The list of Love gin cocktails is moving too. The kitchen creates scrumptious nibbles, gourmet toasted double-deckers, hale and hearty salads, enchanting mains and sweet delights. Speciality dishes are also offered on a daily basis as we find new and seasonal harvest. Be sure not to miss out as the blackboard changes often. If you’re not sure where to start, there’s an easy entry point for the cautious – five ‘gin flights’ each offer three distinctive spirits mixed with craft tonic. In a straight shot, drinkers are encouraged to identify each themselves from the notes before tearing open a cloak. The biggest talking point, however, is perhaps the Food & Gin Pairing, which in this well-lit apartment styled setting watching Hartebeespoort Dam glow pink like an African twilight. Its hand crafted delicacies’, lightly carbonated Indian Tonic; it’s deliberately subtle #5 Gin, to let the flavours of the moods shine through. And enthusiastic staff have all the gen on gin. So after all this effort, don’t ask for Gilbey’s and Schweppes, ice and no slice. It won’t go down well in any sense at Black Fox.
